Description

A 308bp deletion in the final intron (from position 2341 to position 2649) allows for the constitutive production of the 66kD repressor in the soma. The element is 2635bp, and has a 36bp insert of simple AT rich sequence at the site of the deletion. The insertion results in a frameshift which adds 13 amino acids before a premature TAA stop. The element has a coding capacity for a 642 amino acid protein with a calculated size of 75kD.
