A heat inducible Hsp70 promoter regulates expression of the GAL4(GTD-a) hemidriver.
construct_comment: Used in conjunction with P{GTD-b}, which when integrated within a gene in the correct orientation, produces a fusion protein with the Scer\GAL4 DNA-binding domain fused with the Mmus\Trp53 protein. The P{GTD-a} construct encodes a fusion protein with the Scer\GAL4 activation domain fused to the SV40\largeT antigen; this fusion protein is heat-inducible. The Mmus\Trp53 domain binds to SV40\largeT, bringing the 2 Scer\GAL4 domains into proximity and producing a functional Scer\GAL4. Provides a means of temporal control (heat-inducible expression) of Scer\GAL4@ activity.
