Description

Transgenic construct used to study long-range enhancer-promoter interactions in vivo. Contains two divergently transcribed reporters; w+mC and lacZ with a minimal P\T promoter. A gypsy insulator, a 290bp sub-fragment of the 625bp promoter targeting sequence (PTS) from the Abd-B locus, and an iab-8 enhancer have been inserted downstream of the lacZ reporter, oriented such that the gypsy insulator is proximal to lacZ. Two FRT sites have been inserted flanking the PTS sequence (allowing it to be excised using FLP recombinase).
