Description

Transgenic construct used to study the gypsy insulator. Contains the entire y gene, including the wing and body enhancers. A loxP cassette containing a 430bp gypsy\su(Hw)BR insulator sequence has been inserted between the y enhancers and the y coding region at position -893 (relative to the y transcription start site). The w+mC minigene is present downstream of the y sequence.
