A 750bp EcoRI fragment containing the lncRNA:roX1 5' region (which includes the start sites of 3 distinct 5' ends of lncRNA:roX1 RNA) is fused upstream of a promoterless EGFP reporter. The construct is not expected to produce EGFP protein, as any transcript produced is predicted to contain nonproductive ATG codons from the lncRNA:roX1 5' region.
