Description

Transgenic construct used to study the mechanisms regulating the epigenetic state of a Polycomb group response element (PRE). Consists of: an FRT cassette that contains a 3.6kb Fab-7 HindIII fragment, a loxP cassette containing an Hsp70 3'UTR transcription termination signal, an Act5C promoter, a lacZ reporter and a w+* marker. The Act5C promoter is oriented with the direction of transcription towards the Fab-7 sequence, but the presence of the Hsp70 3'UTR transcription termination signal prevents transcription through the Fab-7 sequences.
