A conserved DNA sequence cluster from the sqz gene (length: 1082bp, conserved bases: 427bp) is fused upstream of a minimal Hsp70 promoter driving expression of the GAL4 open reading frame.

ScerGAL4sqz.11 activates expression in a subset of neuroblasts during late sub-lineage development. Expression is also driven in neuroblasts of the larval brain lobes and thoracic segments of the ventral nerve cord. Expression is not detected at adult stage.
