Description

Transgenic construct used in an enhancer blocking assay. Contains divergently transcribed w and lacZ reporters, with the PE enhancer from twi situated proximal to w and the IAB5 enhancer from Abd-B situated proximal to lacZ. A 1kb sub-fragment of the Fab-6 insulator region from the Abd-B locus has been inserted in between the PE and IAB5 enhancers, to determine whether the fragment shows insulator activity.
