The y intron ( X:356918..359616 ) is inserted in the lacZ coding region (between Tyr952 and Ser953); this fragment is downstream of the late cis-regulatory module (-3.3 to -2.3 L-CRM) of kn. The Mef2 and twi binding sites have been deleted from the L-CRM.
