Description

Transgenic construct used to study insulator pairing. Contains a reporter that consists of the eve basal promoter (-275 to +106bp relative to the eve transcription start site), the lacZ coding region and the eve 3'UTR (+1300 to +1525bp). The 'Nhomie' sequence (an insulator that is normally located upstream of the endogenous eve locus) is also present, oriented such that the lacZ reporter is in the same orientation 5' to 3' with respect to the Nhomie sequence as occurs for eve in the genome (where Nhomie is normally located upstream of the endogenous eve locus).
