Description

Transgenic construct used to study long-range enhancer-promoter interactions in vivo. Contains divergently transcribed w and lacZ reporters. A 228 bp H1 enhancer from the h locus, plus a 1.7kb fragment from the transvection mediating region (tmr) of Abd-B that contains both Fab-8 and PTS sequences, have been inserted in between the two reporters. The 1.7kb tmr fragment (containing both Fab-8 and PTS), plus a NEE enhancer fragment from the rho locus is inserted downstream of the lacZ coding sequence.
