Description

A 'dual-kingdom' promoter cassette that allows expression in both Drosophila (promoter sequence from Hsp70) and prokaryotes (promoter sequence from CP6) is fused upstream of a fusion protein composed of the Scer\FCY1 and Scer\FUR1 coding sequences fused in tandem. The encoded protein is sensitive to 5-fluorocytosine, allowing this transgene to be used as a counterselection marker.
