The PBac{3xP3-EYFP.attP} element acts as a landing site for integration of DNA into the genome at a defined location; the element contains an attP site, which acts as a target site for phiC31:int-mediated integration of any attB site-containing donor plasmid. The transgene is based on the Tni\piggyBac transposable element backbone, which means that the docking element can be used in several Drosophila species; insertions of this element have been generated and mapped in four of the most commonly studied species of the D. melanogaster species sub-group: D. simulans, D. mauritiana, D. yakuba, and D. santomea.
