Description

Transgenic construct used to study the 1A2 insulator (an endogenous insulator containing su(Hw)-binding sites which is normally found at the 3' end of the y gene). Contains a y reporter (includes the upstream body and wing enhancers and the intronic bristle enhancer) upstream of a mini-w reporter. The w eye enhancer has been inserted in between the y body and wing enhancers. A loxP cassette containing the y polyadenylation signal and the 1A2 insulator has been inserted in the y intron, in between the promoter and the bristle enhancer.
