UAS sequences regulate expression of a 240bp artificial sequence that mimics the secondary structure of a minimal functional lncRNA:roX2 unit (the 'wild-type' minimal unit is composed of the R2H1 region fused to a fragment containing the ASL and R2H5 regions) but with different nucleotide composition.
