Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

trh8 homozygous embryos lack trachea while they do not exhibit any changes in gonad niche morphology when compared to controls.

Spiracular chamber cells still invaginate, forming a filzkorper. The filzkorper is shorter than wild type.

In homozygous embryos the Malpighian tubules join a common ureter and are wider than normal. Cell rearrangement is not completed in the tubules.

The filzkorper do not elongate and trachea do not form properly. The oesophagus, gastric caecae and Malpighian tubules are unaffected.

trh8 tgo1 double mutants completely lack tracheal staining.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The vvl expressing cells seen when Ecol\lacZvvl.1+2 is expressed in embryos in a trh8 mutant background fail to invaginate, remaining on the epidermal surface of the embryo.

The vvl expressing cells seen when Ecol\lacZvvl.345 is expressed in embryos in a trh8 mutant background fail to invaginate, remaining on the epidermal surface of the embryo.
