What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release.
It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other
FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled
vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference Most homozygous Sox15[KG09145] flies die as pharate adults. The homozygous Sox15[KG09145] escapers are weak and display held-out wings. The held-out-wing phenotype is the result of abnormalities in proximal hinge structures, such as the sclerites, the alula and the costa.
Sox15[KG09145] mutant third instar larval wing imaginal discs show hinge overgrowth that causes extra folds both dorsally and ventrally. There is an increase in cell proliferation in the hinge region of Sox15[KG09145] mutant L3 wing imaginal discs relative to the wild-type. The rate of apoptotic cell death is also increased in Sox15[KG09145] mutant wing discs in the hinge region.
The wing pouch and body wall regions appear unaffected in Sox15[KG09145] mutant third instar larval wing imaginal discs.

Genetic Interactions
| |||
Statement Reference In wg[spd-fg], Sox15[KG09145] double mutant third instar larval wing imaginal discs, the distal hinge region is reduced in size compared to either single mutant. The rate of hinge-specific apoptosis is similar in wg[spd-fg], Sox15[KG09145] double mutant and Sox15[KG09145] single mutant L3 wing discs.
