Description
What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release. It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

Statement
Reference
Mutant embryos lack all circular visceral founder cells, but show normal early endoderm migration.
Morphological and marker analyses indicate that stage 11 jebweli homozygous embryos lack muscle founder cells in their circular visceral mesoderm. The remaining cells in the visceral mesoderm differentiate as fusion competent myoblasts and express genes that are characteristic for this differentiated cell type.

Wolfstetter et al., 2009, Mech. Dev. 126(8-9): 721--736
Fusion of circular and longitudinal muscles in Drosophila is independent of the endoderm but further visceral muscle differentiation requires a close contact between mesoderm and endoderm. [FBrf0208570]

Myoblast determination in the somatic and visceral mesoderm depends on Notch signalling as well as on milliways (mili[Alk]) as receptor for Jeb signalling. [FBrf0174588]
