The oocyte nucleus is mislocalised to the centre of the oocyte in 96% of egg chambers of females expressing par-1Scer\UAS.ΔSP.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16.
When par-1Scer\UAS.ΔSP.T:Avic\GFP is expressed in par-1W3 mutant clones, stable wild-type microtubule network is seen. When par-1Scer\UAS.ΔSP.T:Avic\GFP is expressed in par-1W3 cells (driven by Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL) follicel cell formation is rescued, however round cells are seen that protrude from some portions of an otherwise normal cuboidal epithelium. Multi-layering of the FE is evident after stage 6, which correlates with a failure to differentiate a columnar FE over the oocyte, and in severe cases results in an egg-chamber degeneration around stages 8 and 9.
Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C, par-1UAS.ΔSP.GFP has oocyte nucleus phenotype, suppressible | partially by tauUASp.mGFP6/Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C
The penetrance of the oocyte mislocalisation phenotype seen in egg chambers of females expressing par-1Scer\UAS.ΔSP.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 is reduced by co-expression of tauScer\UAS.P\T.T:Avic\GFP-m6 (from 96% to 33%).
par-1UAS.ΔSP.GFP/Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL partially rescues par-1W3
Expression of par-1Scer\UAS.ΔSP.T:Avic\GFP in Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL follicle epithelial (FE) cells rescues the formation of the FE, though the morphology and development of these cells is abnormal.
