Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In these cases, there will be no "Export to Hitlist" button to the left.

    In combination with other aberrations
NOT in combination with other aberrations

One copy of In(3L)Dr8 strongly suppresses position effect variegation (PEV) at the w locus caused by In(1)wm4.

One copy of In(3L)Dr8 is unable to suppress the telomeric position effect (TPE) in stocks carrying a variegating P{hsp26-pt-T}39C-5 insertion at the telomere of the left arm of chromosome two.

    Other Comments

Behaves genetically as a simple recessive lethal of D, Dr8 exhibits no dominant aspects of the Dichaete phenotype. There are very occasional Dr8/D3 escapers, although the lethality of Dr8/D3, other D alleles, and deficiencies is not rescued by the addition of an extra Y.
