Homozygous clones result in the formation of ectopic wing margin bristles, most of which is formed from heph+ tissue next to the clone. Homozygous clones are smaller than the wild-type twin spot. Homozygous clones can only induce ectopic wing margin within a competent region close to the normal wing margin.
Clones in the wing blade result in ectopic wing margin which is sometimes associated with outgrowths of the wing. The clones non-autonomously induce margin bristle formation in neighbouring tissue.
