Df(2R)edl-S0520/Df(2R)edl-L19 transheterozygotes show cardioblast patterning defects in the embryo.
Lethal in combination with Df(2R)P34; Df(2R)edl-L19/Df(2R)P34 animals die as late embryos or early larvae. Df(2R)U104 fully complements Df(2R)edl-L19.
Homozygotes die as late embryos or early larvae. In homozygous clones in the eye, about 3% of ommatidia show loss of R1-R6 and R7 photoreceptor cells. The R8 cell is always present, even in ommatidia where other types of photoreceptor cells are missing. Homozygous embryos show loss of one or two scolopidia from the lch5 chordotonal organ in about 25% of hemisegments.
