Df(3R)R75 is viable in trans over Df(3R)boss15. However, the flies display a mild bristle phenotype with few extra bristles observed, affecting either dorsocentrals, scutellars or sternopleurals.
Df(3R)R75 over Df(3R)Espl-P11 is viable as long as the carries the Df(3R)Espl-P11 allele. However, fecundity is reduced and some embryos die with a weak neurogenic phenotype, similar to the one observed in the reciprocal cross. Adult flies display display abnormal bristle numbers. Supernumerary sternopleurals are also present and infrequently also scutellars or postverticals. In addition, interommatidial bristles int he eye are frequently duplicated and sometimes ectopic veinlets or distal wing vein thickening is observed.
Df(3R)R75 is homozygous lethal. Mutant embryos display weak neural hyperplasia.
Cytology normal.
