The Df(2R)ΔBaraA-SW1 chromosome was generated by CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis using the Bloomington stocks BL2057 and BL51323 as these backgrounds contain only one copy of the 'BaraA' locus (the reference genome contains a duplication of BaraA, having two identical copies - BaraA1 and BaraA2 - but this duplication is not fixed in laboratory stocks or wild-caught flies - see FBrf0253956). The single BaraA gene copy has been replaced with a loxP cassette containing the Disc\RFPDsRed(T1).3xP3.cHa marker (represented by TI{TI}ΔBaraA-SW1), thus this chromosome lacks both BaraA1 and BaraA2 relative to the reference genome sequence.
