Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.

adult brain & neuropil | conditional ts (with Acej50)
Homozygotes survive at 18oC.
Very weak suppressor of In(1)wm4h variegation.
8.5% of homozygotes survive to adulthood at 18oC, 6.8% survive to adulthood at 25oC, and no homozygotes survive to adulthood at 29oC.
Homozygous males raised at 18oC appear to be sluggish in their movements and fail to copulate with wild-type females in a courtship assay. Homozygous female virgins raised at 18oC fail to copulate with wild-type males in a courtship assay.
Homozygous adults which have been raised at 18oC and then stored for 3-5 days at that temperature pass out irreversibly (and possibly die immediately) within 61 +/- 2 minutes when subjected to 33oC.
Acej40/Acej19 or Acej40/Acej50 second and third instar larvae which have been raised at 18oC are no more susceptible to heat-induced paralysis when exposed to 38oC than control larvae, and are if anything, less adversely affected.
Acej40/Acej19 or Acej40/Acej50 adults which have been raised at 18oC show a slight defects in phototactic behaviour when tested at 18oC. The defects in phototaxis increase if the flies are subjected to 29oC.
Acej40/Acej19 or Acej40/Acej50 adults which have been raised at 18oC but subjected to a heat pulse during pupal development show severely defective phototaxis, while heat treatment during larval development results in only a slight decrement in phototaxis in the resulting adults.
Acej40/Acej50 adults which have been raised at 18oC but subjected to a heat pulse during pupal development show a severe reduction in general locomotor activity compared to mutant adults of the same genotype that have been maintained at 18oC throughout development.
Acej40/Acej50 adults which have been raised at 18oC and then shifted to 29oC for 11 days show defects in the neuropile of the brain; it appears compacted and disorganised compared to wild type.
2% survival in combination with Df(3R)l26d at 18oC, none at 29oC. Exposure of Acej40/Acej19 or Acej40/Acej50 flies to restrictive temperature during late embryonic-early larval stage is lethal; little effect on mid and late larval stages; pupal exposure causes defects in adult phototaxis and motor activity. Heat treatment of adults causes no decline in ACE activity but decrements in phototaxis (29oC) and cessation of movement (31oC) observed.
Extracts lack the 110 kilodalton molecular species. Enzyme produced by heteroallelic combinations raised under permissive conditions is thermolabile.
