mesothoracic tergum & macrochaeta | ectopic | somatic clone
scutellum & chaeta | somatic clone
Homozygous clones in the lateral region of the notum contain several macrochaetae that are not normally present in this region. Large homozygous clones induced using the Minute technique show alterations of the bristle pattern in the scutellum and the disappearance of the suture between the scutum and the scutellum.
Embryos lack both maternal and zygotic exd.
Most segments are altered in hemizygous embryos. The H piece is often severely disrupted. Ventrally, T1 is normal, T2 is partially transformed to T1, T3 has some of the characteristics of both T1 and A2, Keilin's organs and ventral pits are unchanged, A1-A5 are transformed more posteriorly, assuming the morphology of the segment two or three segments posterior, and A6-A8 are normal or near normal. Anterior and posterior terminal structures are normal.
