Deletion of base pairs 233-624 in the 5' section of the fliI transcription unit. This deletes sequences from 207bp upstream of the presumed transcription initiation site, including the translational start site at position 505, and 66 bases of the first intron. The 5' flanking sequence AAACC at the deletion site is duplicated twice in the deletion, suggesting the deficiency may have arisen as a consequence of a transposition event.
Small deficiency within the fliI locus.
A 384bp deletion which removes the translation start codon. There is also a 10bp insertion (two copies of the 5' flanking sequence AAACC) at the site of the deletion. Position of mutation on reference sequence inferred by FlyBase curator based on author statement (Figures 3 and 4).
