lethal (with Df(1)w-rJ1)
gtE6 larvae exhibit a prolonged third instar stage in 25% of females and 13% of male animals. Larvae and pupae are significantly larger than control animals.
Greatly reduced viability of heterozygotes with Df(1)w-rJ1.
Larval development is extended by 4-5 days, polytene chromosomes undergo additional replication and larval, pupal and imago size is increased. Heterozygotes with Df(1)w-rJ1 have reduced viability and the few adult escapers have a normal phenotype.
