wing (with SsdpEP3097)
Homozygous clones result in cuticle defects in the adult.
35% of SsdpEP3097/Ssdpneo48 individuals survive through eclosion. Most of these flies display mutant phenotypes including wing blisters, a mild cleft in the notum along the anterior posterior axis, and thin gnarled macrochaetae on the notum. When Ssdpneo48 clones are induced in the wing, a range of phenotypes are seen. Ectopic margin formation with or without by ectopic outgrowth. The Outgrowths are associated with mutant cells but not entirely made up of them. Phenotypes are never associated with ventral clones. When clones straddle the margin on both dorsal and ventral surfaces wing nicking is seen.
Animals lacking both maternal and zygotic Ssdp die at the beginning of the second larval instar.
