Detailed Description

Eyes are reduced in size and ovoid, facets are fused and the surface is slightly rough and almost or completely hairless. Eye colour: light brown with a darker, slightly reddish rim. Almost colorless in combination with v1. Tarsal claws are practically absent as in lzcl. Males are sterile and transmit no motile sperm to females; therefore, homozygous females are not observed. lz59/lz37 females intermediate between the two mutants in eye phenotype, have reduced tarsal claws and are weakly fertile. RK2.
