Description

The Dna2 product is truncated by a stop codon created by a 40 nucleotide deletion and four nucleotide (GAGG) insertion after the codon for amino acid 251 in the middle of the 'nuclease' domain.

Dna2^D1/Dna2^lS and Dna2^D2/Dna2^lS individuals show increased sensitivity to the mutagen MMS.

Imaginal discs of homozygous larvae are missing or degenerate. Defects in the cell cycle: few or no dividing cells and arrest of the cell cycle at metaphase.
