The Dna2 product is truncated by a stop codon created by a 40 nucleotide deletion and four nucleotide (GAGG) insertion after the codon for amino acid 251 in the middle of the 'nuclease' domain.
Deletion of 40 nucleotides and insertion of 4 (GAGG) after amino acid 251 creates a stop codon (TGA) and leads to early translation termination. Position of deletion/insertion on reference sequence inferred by FlyBase curator.
