Adult-generated scb1 homozygous mutant intestinal stem cell clones have reduced maintenance 7 days and 14 days after clone induction compared to control clones; remaining clones contain fewer cells by day 14; intestinal stem cells show no obvious signs of apoptosis.
Large somatic clones of scb1 mutant cells in the wing cause blistering. Smaller, dorsally located clones that touch or cross longitudinal veins cause broadening of the vein from 2-3 to 4-5 cells. In addition, some small clones are restricted to the center of veins and cause the vein to split into two vein-like territories separated by a central less pigmented intervein-like area. Clone that do not touch the wing veins, or that lie ventrally, have no effect on vein development.
Embryos have small mid-dorsal hole with necrotic rim.
scb[+]/scb1 is a suppressor of decreased occurrence of cell division phenotype of CycEJP
