sd11 homozygous mutant embryos do not display any significant increase in the frequency of hemisegments with abnormal number of neurons in the asymmetrically dividing RP2 neural lineage.

sd11/sdETX4 flies have a scalloped wing phenotype, with the loss of most of the wing blade tissue and erosion of the wing margin. About 30% of heterozygotes show notching of the wing.

Severe pupal wing defects.

At the late lethal stage individuals exhibit gross morphological head abnormalities and vestigal like pupal wings. Heterozygotes with viable sd alleles exhibit an extreme wing phenotype.
