Detailed Description

Carboxyfluorescein injected into abdominal muscle VL3 produces a wild-type pattern of dye spread.

Lethal allele. Fully complements the giant fibre system defects of viable shakB alleles.

DLMs and TTMs respond normally to brain shocks.

Abnormal electrophysiological phenotype. Homozygous flies exhibit uncoordinated leg movements under ether anaesthesia and do not jump to a light off stimulus. Heterozygotes are fully viable and exhibit no neuronal defects.
