      stau3/stau2 exhibit severe defects in one-day memory after spaced training.

      Temperature-sensitive.

      stau2/stau3 heterozygotes at 18oC have a weak abdominal defect, at 29oC a strong abdominal defect.

      Temperature sensitivity is restricted to the abdominal phenotype: at the restrictive temperature embryos lack abdomens.

      stau3/stau4 transheterozygous embryos derived from homozygous females have no polar granules, fail to form pole cells and have deletions of abdominal structures. Posterior localization of vas and CycB transcripts is completely abolished.
