There no SELK neurons observed in casΔ1 mutant animals compared to two observed in controls.

casΔ1/casΔ3 mutant larval ventral nerve cords display an increased number of neuroblast 5-6T cells compared to controls. The neuroblast fails to exit the cell cycle at stage 15.

Homozygous embryos fail to exit the egg chambers and show no signs of movement although they are fully developed with normal cuticles and wild type denticle belts. Their CNS network is reduced.
