Detailed Description

peb1/pebEH704a transheterozygous egg chambers show a significant decrease in follicle rupture (ex vivo, octopamine-treated egg chambers), as compared to peb1 heterozygous controls.

Homozygous clones in the eye result in a scar. Mutant cells in larval eye discs show depletion or more diffuse localisation of F-actin, especially in the more posterior part of the mutant clone.

65.8% of embryos exhibit a germband retraction phenotype, 20.5% a dorsal closure phenotype. 60% of embryos that complete germ band retraction exhibit an anterior-open or dorsal-hole phenotype characteristic of the failure of dorsal closure.

Genetic mosaic embryos show phenotypes that reveal a correlation between the genotype of the amnioserosa and the success or failure of germ band retraction.

Embryos show intermediate failure of germband retraction. 36% have abdominal segment 6.5 or greater at the posterior tip.

Variably incomplete germ band retraction.

pebEH704a has amnioserosa phenotype, non-suppressible by InRhs.PF

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

InRhs.PF partially suppresses the germ band retraction defect of pebEH704a embryos. The amnioserosa apoptosis defect is not suppressed.
