Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Ectopic expression of myshs.PB has no effect on olfactory function.

Overexpression of myshs.PB using heat shock every 7 hours from hatching results in larval and pupal lethality. Larvae that survive to the wandering third instar stage often undergo premature histolysis. At a qualitative level, the neuromuscular junctions of the heat shocked larvae are structurally disordered, with reduced branches and smaller, abnormally shaped boutons. Muscle 4 terminals show no significant alterations in the number of synaptic branches or type I boutons. In contrast, muscle 12 terminals show a significant decrease in the number of total synaptic branches, resulting primarily from a loss of higher order branches, and a highly significant decrease in the number of type I boutons.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Suppression of wing vein phenotypes due to sogEP7 or sogEP11 by myshs.PB, is strongest when heat shock is administered 20-28 hours after puparium formation.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Comments

Rescues retinal floor defects of mys8 mutants.

Heat shock induced expression rescues the wing blister phenotype of mys8 if3 double mutants. Maximal rescue requires heat shock initiating 5.5 or more days prior to eclosion and continuing up to 1.5 days prior to eclosion.
