cuticle & procephalic segment
All heterozygous females are dead. Embryos have a thin layer of cuticle in the cephalic region, severe distortion of the metameric pattern and an absence of fasciculation of the nerve fibres. In heterozygotes the defects are restricted to the cephalo-thoracic region.
Flies manifest chronic vibration of their appendages as well as abnormal action potentials.
