ed^4.12/ed^lH23 flies have a rough eye phenotype. Twinning of R8 photoreceptor cells is seen in ed^lH23/Df(2L)ed-dp animals.

ed^lH23/ed^k01102 flies have extra dorsocentral, scutellar and recurved wing margin bristles (chemosensory ventral triple row + dorsal triple row). In wing discs, 25% of sensillum precursor cells (SOPs) at the borders of ed^lH23 somatic clones (n=91), are part of a pair of adjacent SOPs, one mutant and one wild-type. Of the remaining 75%, 71% show a mutant SOP adjacent to wild-type non-SOP cells and 39% show a wild-type SOP adjacent to mutant non-SOP cells (n=68).
