Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

R-cell axons migrate properly towards the posterior end of the eye disc and enter the optic stalk normally in homozygous larvae, and the axon tract in the optic stalk is morphologically indistinguishable from wild type. However, after exiting the optic stalk, the mutant R-cell axons fail to maintain their normal neighbour relationships, resulting in abnormally thick bundles in the lamina and medulla, crossing over of neighbouring axon bundles in the medulla and a less organised array of R7 and R8 growth cones in the medulla compared to wild type. The R7 and R8 growth cones are less expanded than normal and have abnormal morphology.

Homozygous R-cell axons induced by the MARCM system in a heterozygous background do not expand upon reaching the target region in the optic lobe in 89% of cases and 16% have an abnormal topographic projection pattern.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Heterozygosity for burk07130 enhances the "held-out wing" phenotype of Usp7Δ35 hemizygotes.

Flies transheterozygous for burk07130 and Pc1 or Pc3 exhibit very strong wing-to-haltere transformations. In addition, males transheterozygous for burk07130 and either Pc1 or Pc3 also show partial transformation of the anterior abdominal segments A4 towards A5 and carry sex combs on the second legs.
