Homozygous and shn^k04412/shn¹ embryos show a reduction in the number of dorsal and lateral neurons of the peripheral nervous system.

Homozygous embryos exhibit loss lateral chordotonal (Lch) neurons, loss of dorsal cluster neurons and lateral chordotonal (Lch) neuron migration defects.
