      Able to induce R7 cell development at a reduced frequency. Removal of one copy of Ras85D, dos or drk causes a significant reduction in ommatidia with multiple R7 cells.

      In a sev14 background, flies carrying one copy of sev::tor13D:Y2546F.hs.sev have smooth eyes. Number of R7 cells per ommatidium is 0.3 +/- 0.3 (n=241). Some ommatidia still contain one R7 cell. Flies carrying two copies of sev::tor13D:Y2546F.hs.sev have rough eyes with ommatidia with multiple R7 cells as for sev::tor13D.hs.sev.
