hypomorphic allele - genetic evidence
lethal - all die before end of embryonic stage | recessive
some die during embryonic stage | recessive
Some hemizygotes die before hatching and most of those that hatch possess properly formed cephalopharyngeal skeleton.
Fails to complement the lethal effects of Df(3L)H99 and Whid-H109 but complements the lethal effects of Whid-A329 and Whid-A206. Mutant males can be ranked based on the severity of terminalia rotation: Df(3L)H99 > Whid-H109 > Whid-A22 > Whid-A206 > Whid-A329 > Whid-H89. The ranking is roughly similar to the one for the degree to which the alleles disrupt embryonic head development.
