scutellum & macrochaeta | somatic clone
Clones in the scutellum survive and form ectopic bristles.
Clones in females cause mirror-image duplication of the dorsal vaginal plate. Clone also causes duplication of the dorsal anal plate.
Clones of mutant wing tissue induce growth of anterior tissue, as mirror image duplications of anterior wing. Duplicated tissue includes no veins but is flanked by ectopic vein 3. At the wing margin, ptc mutant clones do not produce chemosensory bristles. No abnormal posterior compartment structures are observed in ptc clones.
