Reference

In animals with eight copies of the tor gene, the formation of germ cells is partially inhibited. While the initial localisation of germ plasm components at the posterior pole is apparently unaffected, germ plasm that fails to be sequestered into the germ cells becomes fragmented. The germ cells that do form appear to have normal levels of germ plasm components and migrate normally.
