Enhancer trap staining mimics the staining of the Syx1A gene. Expression is observed mainly in the CNS and garland cells and can also be seen in the anterior and posterior midguts.

In wandering third instar larva, moderate expression in gastric caecum and hindgut; lower levels in midgut and Malpighian tubules.
