Reported as G144D in FBrf93573. Maps to G147D in the CDS encoded by the reference sequence. The difference is due to the use of an upstream splice acceptor in an upstream intron . The annotated version is supported by full length cDNA LD41207 (GB:AY058692). The site of the nucleotide substitution in the mutant was inferred by FlyBase based on the reported amino acid change.
The number of R7-like cells per ommatidium is slightly increased in homozygotes compared to wild-type flies.

Completely suppresses the eye phenotype of phl1 hemizygotes. SosJC2 heterozygotes also hemizygous for Dsor1Su4 have 3.01 +/- 0.72 R7-like cells per ommatidium. Partly suppresses the sev6 phenotype; flies hemizygous for sev6 and Dsor1Su4 have an R7 photoreceptor cell in 8.9% of ommatidia. Partly suppresses the maternal tor4 phenotype; 99.7% of embryos derived from tor4 Dsor1Su4 females have an A8 segment. Enhances the phl::tor12D.sev rough eye phenotype. Partly suppresses the Egfrf7 phenotype.
