Homozygous clones in the wing produce discrete, round blisters of variable size. These blisters can be located anywhere on the wing. Wing venation is normal.

The bub^2L-2 chromosome may carry an inversion with breakpoints in the 21A-21B7 and 28B2-28D1 regions as it is not complemented by Df(2L)net-PM47C (deficient for 21A1-21B7), Df(2L)XE-2750 or Df(2L)XE-3801 (both deficient for 28B2-28D1), or the chromosome may contain two independent lethal mutations.
