Mis-expression of AwhScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH reduces or abolishes the eye.
Clones of cells mis-expressing Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL>AwhScer\UAS.cCa in eye discs fail to differentiate as photoreceptors.
Flies expressing AwhScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 survive to the adult stage. Their wings are reduced to stubs, but thoracic structures derived from the wing disc are normal. A small portion of the ventral part of the eye, the vibrissae and vertical bristles of the head are missing. The capitellum of the halteres and the internal genitalia are missing, and the coxa and femur of the legs are twisted and misshapen. The larval salivary glands are present in larvae expressing AwhScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096. The larval photosensory organ and tracheal system develops normally in larvae expressing AwhScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096. Larval wing and eye-antennal imaginal discs in which AwhScer\UAS.cCa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 show excess programmed cell death, although the discs are normal in size and shape.
AwhUAS.cCa, Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL has eye disc | somatic clone | third instar larval stage phenotype, suppressible by Chi45F
AwhUAS.cCa, Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL has photoreceptor neuron | somatic clone | third instar larval stage phenotype, suppressible by Chi45F
The expression of AwhScer\UAS.cCa in clones of cells under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL is unable to block photoreceptor differentiation when mis-expressed in Chi45F mutant cells.
